Section 2. Call to Worship

Come and Rest in His Peace

Let’s turn our attention fully to the Lord this morning. In John 14:23–29, Jesus reminds us of something powerful: when we love Him, we become His dwelling place—He makes His home in our hearts. And He doesn’t leave us alone. He sends us the Holy Spirit, our Counselor, and gives us His peace—not as the world gives, but the kind that calms anxious hearts.

Let’s quiet our minds and prepare our spirits to meet with God.

Responsive Reading (from John 14:27):
Leader: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.”
Congregation: “I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Let’s stand together and worship.

Section 3. Opening Prayer

Let Us Pray

Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing us together today. As we gather in Your name, we invite Your Spirit to move freely in our hearts. Speak to us through Your Word, remind us of Your truth, and help us to walk in obedience to Your will. We give You our burdens, our distractions, our fears—and in return, we receive Your peace. Dwell in us today, Lord, and let Your presence be felt deeply. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Section 4. Praise and Worship

Lifting Our Hearts in Song

Now let’s join together in praise! Whether you’re raising your hands or simply reflecting in your heart, this time is about giving God glory. Our worship team will lead us in songs that remind us of God’s faithfulness, His presence, and the peace He promises.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

Section 5. Scripture Reading

The Word That Anchors Our Hearts

Today’s Scripture comes from John 14:23–29 (NIV). This powerful passage captures Jesus’ loving promise to never leave us alone—and to give us a kind of peace that can’t be found anywhere else.

Before the cross, Jesus reassured His disciples that though He was going away, He wasn’t leaving them behind. He was preparing them—and us—for the arrival of the Holy Spirit, who teaches, reminds, and brings peace.

Let’s read together:

John 14:23-29 (NIV)
23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
25 “All this I have spoken while still with you.
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.”

Section 6. Pastoral Prayer or Intercessory Prayer

Prayer for Peace and Presence

Lord Jesus, thank You for the peace that passes all understanding. You know the burdens we carry, the questions in our hearts, and the weight on our shoulders. But You’ve promised not to leave us as orphans. Thank You for the Holy Spirit—our comforter, teacher, and guide. Help us walk in obedience and love, and may Your peace rule in our hearts today.

Congregational Prayer Response

Congregation Together:
“Peace You leave with us, Lord. Your peace You give to us. We will not let our hearts be troubled. We will not be afraid.”

Section 7. Offering

Giving Back to the Giver

Friends, giving is not just a transaction—it’s an act of worship. When we give our tithes and offerings, we are saying, “God, You are our provider, and we trust You with everything.” Your generosity makes ministry possible and reaches lives near and far.

Let’s honor God with our giving today.

Prayer of Thanks:
Heavenly Father, every good gift comes from You. We give today not out of duty, but out of love and trust. Use these tithes and offerings to build Your Kingdom, serve Your people, and proclaim Your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Section 8. Special Music

A Moment of Reflection in Song

Before we dive into the full teaching, let’s take a moment to soak in this message through music. This special song was chosen to echo the promise Jesus gave: that He is with us, He gives peace, and He will come again.

Bible Study: Unlock the Secret to Unshakeable Peace
(Even When Life Feels Chaotic)

The Hidden Promise Jesus Made That Could Transform Your Life Today

Have you ever felt like peace was just out of reach? Like no matter how hard you tried, anxiety and worry always found a way to creep back in? You’re not alone. Millions of Christians struggle with this every day. But what if I told you that Jesus himself revealed a secret to finding true, lasting peace – a promise so powerful it could change everything?

Let me share a quick story…

Years ago, I met a woman named Sarah. On the surface, she seemed to have it all together – successful career, beautiful family, active in her church. But behind closed doors, Sarah was falling apart. Anxiety consumed her thoughts. Sleepless nights became the norm. She felt like she was barely holding on.

Then one Sunday, everything changed.

Our pastor delivered a message on John 14:23-29. As he spoke, Sarah felt a weight lifting off her shoulders. She realized she had been trying to manufacture peace on her own, when all along Jesus had already given her the key.

That day marked the beginning of a radical transformation in Sarah’s life. The anxiety that once crippled her gave way to a deep, unshakeable peace. Her relationships flourished. Her faith deepened. And she discovered a joy she never thought possible.

Now, I want to offer you the same life-changing revelation Sarah experienced.
