Baby Dedication & Prayers

Baby Dedication Service

A Sacred Celebration of Life and Faith!

1. Opening Words (Pastor)

Beloved family of faith, today we come together in a spirit of joy and gratitude to dedicate this precious child to the Lord. We stand in awe of the gift of life and the responsibility entrusted to all present.  As (The Ones who First Loved This Child, Mom & Dad, God Parents if Used, Sponsor Family) bring their child before God and this congregation, they declare their desire to raise them in a home where Christ is honored, His Word is taught, and His love is lived out. Today is not just a dedication of this child it is a commitment from all of us to support and nurture them in faith and love.

2. Scripture Readings (Read by Pastor or Family Member)

Deuteronomy 6:5-7Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.

Mark 10:13-16Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them, and blessed them.

3. Charge to Those Who Choose to Raise This Child: (Pastor Addresses the Parents)

God has graciously given you this child a precious soul created in His image. Today, as you stand before this church family, do you commit to raising your child in a Christ-centered home? Will you teach them to know and love the Lord, to pray, and to walk in the ways of Jesus? Will you strive to be an example of faith, grace, and love in their life?

Parents Respond: “We do, with God’s help.”

Prayer for the Sick

O God, the source of all health, fill my heart with faith in Your love, so that with calm expectancy I may make room for Your power to possess me and gracefully accept Your healing.
Heavenly Father, we pray that You will lay Your healing hands upon all those who are sick, and beg You to have compassion on all who are suffering so that they may be delivered from their circumstances.
Lord Jesus Christ, during Your earthly ministry, You healed the sick; look with favor on Your servants who are suffering, and grant them relief from pain, meaning in their struggles, and healing in body, mind, and spirit. We ask that You would bring healing and restoration to their body, mind, and spirit.

We pray for those who are frail, facing serious illness, surgery, or the effects of old age, that they may receive the strengthening, peace, and courage to endure their sufferings in a Christian manner.

We ask for the forgiveness of sins, if the sick person for the salvation of their soul. We also pray for those who care for the sick, that they may be strengthened and supported in their service, and for doctors, nurses, and other professional caregivers, that they may be guided by wisdom, strength, skill, and generosity.

We lift up to You all who are suffering from debilitating or terminal illness, those who are blind, deaf, lost, or whose minds have lost their reason, and those who must live with a handicap. We ask for Your healing power to flow through every part of their body.

We believe in the healing power of faith and prayer, and we claim the promises of Your Word over them. We trust in You, Lord, and in You alone to heal them. We ask that You bless them with Your loving care, renew their strength, and heal what ails them in Your loving name. We pray that You would grant them patience under their affliction and restore them to health in Your good time, enabling them to llives their life in Your Blessing and to Your glory. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Funeral and Memorial Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Today we come before You with grateful hearts,
remembering the life of Your servant,

We thank You for every blessing You shared,
through their life,

and for the love they gave,

the memories they created,

and in the ways they touched the lives
of those around them.

Lord,

We praise You for the promise,
of eternal life,
through Jesus Christ.

We thank You that for those who trust in You,
and acknolegde that death is not the end of the story.

But only a doorway
into Your eternal presence,

where there is no more pain,
no sorrow,
no suffering,

A place where you will wipe away all their tears.

We entrust (Name)
into Your loving care,
confident in Your mercy,
grace,
and unfailing love.

Let Your eternal light shine upon them,
and grant them peace in Your heavenly kingdom.

Father, comfort those who mourn today.
Draw near to family and friends in their grief.

When the sadness feels heavy,
remind them that You are close.

And to us, the brokenhearted.
Grants us the assurance that Your presence,
will never leaves  or abandon us.

Help us to cherish,
the memories we hold dear,

Make us to be thankful,
for the gift of life,
and the hope we share,
in the promise of Jesus Christ,
to be with us to the end of time.

Guide us through the days ahead.
Strengthen our faith when we struggle,
Encourage our hearts when we feel alone,
and help us to trust that one day,
we will be reunited with (Name),
With all our family and friends,
your faithful people,
Rejoicing in our eternal home.

Until that day,
may Your peace guard our hearts,

Your love sustain us,
and Your presence walk beside us.

We ask all these things
in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
