The Tattered Sermon I Wasn’t Supposed to Find!

A Sermon Fell Out of an Old Bible…

It happened at a church estate sale.

I was flipping through a weathered leather Bible, the kind that’s been carried to hospital rooms and whispered over in prayer meetings, when something fell out.

It wasn’t money.
It wasn’t a photo.
It was a sermon… only half-written.

But the words on it stopped me cold. It was unlike anything I’d ever read-simple, bold, full of power.

Turns out, the pastor it belonged to built a thriving church in less than 2 years… no seminary degree, no fancy equipment. Just a handful of people, the Word of God, and a few “short, powerful sermons” like this one.

But the page ended abruptly.
And something about that missing half… stuck with me.
