The 3 Main Types of Membership Personallities

The 5 Biblical Purposes – Great Commandment and Great Commission:

  • Worship: Building a Personal Relationship with Jesus.
  • Fellowship: Build a Personal Relationship with Fellow Believers & Community.
  • Discipleship: Constantly – Grow & Show your faith.
  • Ministry: Understand that everyone, no matter their circumstances, can Serve Others.
  • Evangelism: Share the Gospels’ message of Unconditional Love, Forgiveness &  Service.

These provide a framework for a Balanced Christian Life & Your Personal Ministry Focus.

1. The Bi-Vocational Pastor / Lay Speaker

  • Mission: To live as a “bridge-builder” by living God’s love and purposes in the heart of the secular world, proving that every social interaction is part of your mission, and an opportunity to share God’s Love.

  • Role Description:
You are a strategic ambassador who projects a spiritual lifestyle in a secular setting. Your role is to “be the church” where people work, utilizing your unique Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experience, to minister to those who may never step inside a sanctuary.

1. The Bi-Vocational Pastor / Lay Speaker Focus: Proclamation of the Kingdom of God!
  • CONNECT: This is about being a “bridge.” You connect the Sunday message to the Monday cubicle. You meet people where they are – at the gym, the office, or the job site.
  • INFUSE: You aren’t just working a job; you are infusing the marketplace with the flavor of the Kingdom. You bring “salt and light” to environments that full-time pastors rarely reach.
  • EQUIP: You show the “person in the pew” that they don’t need a collar or a degree to be a minister. You equip them to see their own daily lives as a mission.

2. The Full-Time Assigned Pastor (The Anchor Lead)
  • Mission: To urgently lead our church family, and sometimes families, to say “YES” to Jesus and grow deeper in God’s five purposes for their lives. (listed above)
  • Role Description: As a shepherd of the flock, you are responsible for maintaining a healthy church structure that balances worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and mission. Your goal is to equip every member to discover their own ministry, moving them from the “crowd” into “committed” discipleship.

2. The Full-Time Assigned Pastor Focus: Health and Depth
  • NURTURE: Like a shepherd tending a flock, your focus is on the health of the sheep. You provide the “soul food” (teaching) and the care (counseling) that allows the church family to thrive.
  • ROOT: Your goal is to help people grow deep roots in the Word. In a shallow world, you provide the stability and foundation that keeps the church from blowing away during storms.
  • SHEPHERD: This is about “knowing the names.” You provide the intentional, day-to-day guidance that moves a crowd of people towards a unified family of God.

3. The Church Builder (The Kingdom Architect)
  • Mission: To pioneer a Purpose Driven Community, where the hurting find healing, and the confused can find focus, hope, and a home in God’s family.
  • Role Description: You are a Visionary Leader who begins with the “end in mind,” designing a church that is built on purpose, not personality. Your role is to mobilize the “PEACE Plan” – Planting churches, Equipping leaders, Assisting the poor, Caring for the sick, and Educating the next generation – to reach the local community and the whole world.

3. The Church Builder / Planter Focus: Vision and Expansion
  • LAUNCH: You are the engine. You have the “startup” energy required to take a blank canvas and turn it into a place of worship. You move people from “thinking” to “doing.”
  • CATALYZE: You act as a spark. You start ministries, services, and outreach programs that didn’t exist before, creating a chain reaction of service throughout the city.
  • MULTIPLY: You looking to multiply leaders. Your focus is on building a structure that can support thousands of lives through multiple ministry “branches”.
