Section 2. Call to Worship
Let’s prepare our hearts to worship our amazing God. I’ll read a portion from Revelation 5, and I invite you to let these words wash over you, imagining the incredible scene they describe:
“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!'” (Revelation 5:11-12, NIV)
Wow! Can you picture that heavenly multitude? Let’s join our voices with theirs as we sing our opening hymn, “Holy, Holy, Holy.”
Section 3. Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You in awe and wonder. Just as the angels and elders gather around Your throne in heaven, we gather here today to worship You. Open our eyes to see Your glory, our ears to hear Your voice, and our hearts to receive Your love. May everything we do in this service bring honor to Your name and draw us closer to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Section 4. Praise and Worship
Now, let’s lift our voices together in praise! Our worship team will lead us in a mix of contemporary songs and beloved hymns. Remember, friends, worship isn’t about perfect pitch – it’s about a heart perfectly aligned with God’s. So sing out with all you’ve got, knowing that God delights in the praises of His people!
Section 5. Scripture Reading
Today, we’re focusing on an incredible passage from the book of Revelation. John, the author, is given a glimpse into heaven itself, and what he sees is nothing short of breathtaking. Let’s read together from Revelation 5:11-14 (NIV):
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.
12 In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
What an incredible scene of heavenly worship!
Section 6. Pastoral Prayer or Intercessory Prayer
Let’s pray together:
Lord God, King of the Universe, we stand in awe of Your majesty. Like the countless angels surrounding Your throne, we lift our voices in praise. We thank You for Jesus, the Lamb who was slain for us, worthy of all honor and glory. As we face our daily challenges, remind us of this heavenly perspective. May our lives reflect the worship we see in this passage, bringing glory to Your name in all we do.
And now, let’s respond together with words inspired by our Scripture:
Congregation: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
Amen!
Let’s continue to lift up prayers for our church family, our community, and our world. Lord, we pray for those who are facing illness, grief, or hardship. Wrap them in Your loving arms and provide comfort. We lift up our leaders, that they would seek Your wisdom. And God, revive Your church to be a beacon of hope in these uncertain times. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Section 7. Offering
Now, let’s continue our worship through our tithes and offerings. Friends, I know finances can be a sensitive topic, but the Bible is clear that our giving is an act of worship – an opportunity to honor God with the resources He has entrusted to us. As we collect the offering, I encourage you to pray about how God is calling you to be faithful and generous. Remember, we don’t give to get, but because we’ve already received the greatest gift of all – the love of Christ.
Let’s pray over these gifts: Gracious God, we humbly offer back to You a portion of what You have so generously provided. May these resources be used to advance Your kingdom, meet the needs of Your people, and bring glory to Your name. Accept our worship, Lord, for we give these gifts with thankful hearts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
