Section 2. Call to Worship

Scripture Focus – Acts 2:1–21

As we gather today, let’s turn our hearts to Acts 2, where the Holy Spirit came like a rushing wind and changed everything.

God still moves. His Spirit still fills. And today, we worship the same living God who empowered the early church.

Let’s read this together as a call to worship:

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people…” (Acts 2:17a, NIV)

He’s pouring out His Spirit here today—on you, on me, on all who believe.

Let’s stand together and worship with expectancy in our hearts.

Section 3. Opening Prayer

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for this moment—to pause, to breathe, and to focus on You. Thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit, poured out to guide us, to comfort us, and to fill us with power. Today, we come as we are—imperfect, but deeply loved. Speak to us through Your Word, stir our hearts, and draw us closer to You. We invite Your presence into this room, into our homes, and into every part of our lives.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

Section 4. Praise and Worship

Let’s Lift Our Voices

Now it’s time to lift our hearts in praise. Worship is more than just singing—it’s surrender, it’s gratitude, it’s connection with our Savior. Whether you’re belting it out or whispering a prayer, just be present. Our worship team will lead us in a mix of powerful songs and familiar hymns—let’s enter in with joy and openness.

“When we worship, we align our hearts with heaven.”
Let’s worship Him together.

Section 5. Scripture Reading

Introduction to the Word

Today’s message comes from Acts 2:1–21—the moment the Holy Spirit showed up and the church was born. This passage is a reminder that God fulfills His promises, and He empowers ordinary people to do extraordinary things through His Spirit.

Let’s read the Word of God together.

Acts 2:1-21 (NIV)

1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.
6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.
7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?
9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome
11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”
12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!
16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

Section 6. Pastoral Prayer or Intercessory Prayer

Intercessory Prayer

Father God,
Thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. As You poured out Your Spirit on the day of Pentecost, we ask that You pour it out again today—on our families, on our leaders, on our city, and our nation. Empower us to speak boldly, live righteously, and serve compassionately. Help us to be a church that listens, prays, and acts in love.

Congregational Response

Lord, pour out Your Spirit on all people—young and old, rich and poor, every tribe and tongue.
We call on the name of the Lord, and we trust in Your saving grace. Amen.

Section 7. Offering

Message on Giving

Giving isn’t just about money—it’s about worship. When we give, we’re saying, “God, I trust You more than I trust my paycheck.” Every tithe, every offering is a declaration of gratitude and obedience. It allows us to do ministry, serve our community, and reach the world with the love of Jesus.

Prayer of Thanks

Father,
Thank You for every cheerful giver. Thank You for providing all our needs. We give today with joyful hearts, knowing that You are our provider. Use these gifts to bless others, spread the gospel, and build Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Section 8. Special Music

Introduction to Special Music

Let’s take a moment to reflect as our worship team shares a special song prepared just for today. Let the lyrics speak to your heart and remind you of God’s goodness and power.

“What If the Fire of Pentecost Fell On You This Sunday?”

The tongues of fire weren’t just for them… what if they’re meant for us—right now? Dare to open this, and you’ll never sit through another lukewarm Sunday again.

“From Fear to Fire: The Day Peter Finally Found His Voice”

Peter stood in the shadows. Just weeks ago, he denied Jesus three times. Shame still wrapped around him like a heavy cloak. He was loyal, yes—but scared. Safe in the upper room, surrounded by his people, he waited.
They all waited. For what, they didn’t really know.

Then it happened.

A sound—like a freight train tearing through the room. Tongues of fire fell from heaven and rested on each of them. Peter’s tongue caught flame—not with fire, but with words. Words he never had the courage to say before.

And suddenly, the same man who once trembled before a servant girl stood up in front of thousands. He raised his voice and declared the truth with fire-baptized boldness. “This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel…”

That moment?
It didn’t just mark the birth of the Church.
It marked the birth of your calling, too.

The Holy Spirit didn’t come to make spectators.
He came to make witnesses.
And He’s still doing it today.
