Delivery Time: 28 minutes

What Revelation’s ‘Alpha and Omega’ Can Teach Us About Binge-Watching Your Own Life. It’s not just about beginnings and endings—it’s about where you’re standing in between.  Who is covered in what grace, peace, and being a little less lost might look like in your life?

Welcoming

Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ! It’s a joy to gather together today as we worship our Lord and Savior. Whether you’ve been part of this family for years or you’re visiting us for the first time, you are so welcome here. Today, we’re going to reflect on a powerful and hope-filled passage from the book of Revelation. It’s a reminder of who God is, what He’s doing, and what He promises to accomplish. Let’s open our hearts to His message.

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for bringing us together today as one family in Your name. We come to You with open hearts and open hands, ready to receive the truth of Your Word. Speak to us through Your Spirit, Lord, and help us see Your love, grace, and power in fresh ways. May Your peace cover every worry, and may Your presence strengthen us for the week ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Introduction to Scripture

The book of Revelation can sometimes seem mysterious or even intimidating. But at its core, Revelation is a letter of hope written to a church facing challenges, just like we do today. In our passage today—Revelation 1:4-8—we’re reminded of the greatness of God, His faithfulness, and the incredible promise of His return. Let’s take a closer look at what these verses mean for us as we live in this in-between time, waiting for His ultimate victory.

The Events in the NIV Bible Verse

In Revelation 1:4-8, John writes to the seven churches in Asia, offering them grace and peace from God—described as the One “who is, and who was, and who is to come.” It’s a powerful reminder of God’s eternal nature and His authority. These verses also speak of Jesus’ love for us, His sacrifice, and His promise to return. It’s a declaration of who God is and a call to stand firm in faith as we await the fulfillment of His kingdom.

Scripture: Revelation 1:4-8 (NIV)

4 John,
To the seven churches in the province of Asia:
Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
