Welcome

Good morning, dear brothers and sisters in Christ! It is a joy to gather together today to worship our Lord and Savior. We come as a family, united in our love for Jesus and our desire to grow deeper in our faith. Let us open our hearts to His word and His presence as we seek to be more like Him in every aspect of our lives.

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this beautiful day and the opportunity to come together as Your children. We ask for Your Holy Spirit to fill this place and our hearts. Open our minds to understand Your word, and help us to apply it in our daily lives. Guide us, comfort us, and strengthen us as we seek to follow You more closely. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

Introduction to Scripture

Today, we turn to a powerful passage in the Gospel of Mark. In Mark 4:35-41, we see Jesus demonstrating His authority over nature. This passage reminds us of the importance of faith and trust in God, especially in the midst of life’s storms. The disciples were terrified when a furious storm hit their boat, but Jesus, with just a few words, calmed the storm and brought peace. Let us reflect on this story and find encouragement in Jesus’ power and presence in our lives.

Scripture: Mark 4:35-41 (NIV) Finding Peace Midst Your Storms?

35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”
36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.
37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.
38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Intercessory Prayer

Lord Jesus, just as You calmed the storm for the disciples, we ask You to bring peace to our hearts and lives. For those facing storms of fear, doubt, or trouble, we pray for Your calming presence. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and help us to trust in Your power and love. Guide us through the challenges we face and remind us that You are always with us. Amen.

Congregational Response

Dear Lord, we thank You for Your power and Your peace. We place our trust in You, knowing that You are greater than any storm we face. Help us to grow in faith and to remember that You are always with us, calming our fears and guiding our steps. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
