Welcome:

Welcome to our gathering today, dear brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s a joy to have you all here as we come together to worship and grow in our faith. Let us open our hearts to the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we dive into the Word of God and explore the path of Christian discipleship and spiritual growth.

Opening Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before you with hearts full of gratitude for the opportunity to gather as a community of believers. We ask for your presence to fill this place and our hearts, that we may be receptive to the teaching of your Word. Lord, open our minds and soften our hearts, that we may be transformed by the truths we encounter today. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Introduction to Scripture:

In the Book of Acts, chapter 19, verses 1-7, we find an account of the Apostle Paul’s journey to Ephesus. He encounters a group of disciples who had not yet received the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and through their conversation, we witness a profound lesson in the importance of understanding and embracing the complete message of salvation.

NIV Bible Verse: Acts 19:1-7

1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples
2 and asked them, ‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?’ They answered, ‘No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.’
3 So Paul asked, ‘Then what baptism did you receive?’ ‘John’s baptism,’ they replied.
4 Paul said, ‘John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.’
5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
7 There were about twelve men in all.”

May the Lord bless you all as we embark on this journey of spiritual growth and discipleship together.
