Welcome
Dear beloved congregation,
It is with great joy and gratitude that we gather together today in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Your presence here is a testament to your commitment to grow as disciples of Christ, and I am humbled to stand before you as we embark on this journey of spiritual growth together.
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before you today with open hearts and minds,
ready to receive your Word and guidance.
We thank you for the opportunity to gather as a community of believers,
seeking only to deepen our relationship with you.
Lord, we ask for your presence to be felt among us,
that your Holy Spirit may guide our time together.
May the words spoken and heard be a source of inspiration and transformation in our lives.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Introduction to Scripture
Today, we turn our attention to the inspired words found in the New International Version (NIV) of the Holy Bible, specifically in 1 Thessalonians 2:9-13. In these verses, the Apostle Paul shares insights into his ministry, revealing the heart of a true disciple and the transformative power of the Gospel. We are called to emulate the characteristics outlined here as we strive to become more like Christ in our daily lives.
SCRIPTURE 1 Thessalonians 2:9-13 (NIV)
9 You remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you.
10 You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous, and blameless we were among you who believed.
11 For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children,
12 encouraging, comforting, and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.
13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
